Bring them home safely
Medical repatriation means bringing a loved one home — or to a hospital in your country — with care throughout the journey, not just a travel ticket.
What this means for you
“Bed-to-bed” means we collect the patient from where they are being cared for now, accompany them on the route, and hand them over to the team at the destination — hospital or, when appropriate, home.
Routes may be across Europe or longer corridors (including Asia), by ground ambulance, commercial-flight escort, or a mix — based on clinical need, not the most expensive package.
The goal is not speed at any cost, but a safe transfer with the right monitoring and documents for continuity of care.
How it usually unfolds
- You tell us where the patient is and where you want them to arrive.
- A physician reviews the case and proposes the transport mode.
- We arrange crew, equipment and contact with both hospitals.
- We complete pickup, transfer and handover, with a clear summary for the receiving team.
Guidelines and legal frame (briefly)
- In good transfer practice (including NHS-style models), transport starts after medical assessment: is the patient stable enough for the chosen journey?
- Ambulance types (A, B, C) are standardised; crew and equipment are matched to the patient’s condition.
- Continuity of care matters: there should be a plan at destination (reserved bed or home care), not only an address on a map.
- Repatriation is organised bed-to-bed: pickup at the origin hospital, handover at the destination hospital or at home.

- A short summary of diagnosis and recent treatment (avoid sending sensitive details in a first public email).
- Family contacts and, if any, the insurer’s desk.
- ID / travel documents when borders or flights are involved.
